Where to begin? The Poor Scholar®, Inc. started in Ballinamore, Ireland as a pub and restaurant. As both a local and tourist favorite, The Poor Scholar® established our brand as providing high quality, timeless yet traditional services and products. The nature of the shared experience of pursuing knowledge whether in a formal setting such as a college or university or as a self-taught, do-it-yourself type is fundamental to The Poor Scholar.®

The three partners of The Poor Scholar ®, Gerry McWeeney, Chuck Remley and Maureen Harrington have been friends, students, siblings in some cases and cohorts in our studies for many years. Our corporate values embrace a bit of the Irish celebration, a little Hawaiian Aloha spirit and a huge amount of passion for the experiences of college and university students. The studies, challenges, celebrations and successes create an unique experience for each student. Yet the shared experience of students should be celebrated.
